I am pissed off because Laci Green, one of the most promising young content creators on YouTube, has been forced off the Internet by death threats—apparently driven by her casual use of the word “tranny” in a video she made more than three years…

I don’t understand this-she’s just saying what poc and lgbtq social activists have said before but getting more attention/praise. Should she not say anything then? Instead of attempting to raise awareness and understanding surrounding such issues should she just keep quiet? That seems dumb. I am a white cis bi-sexual. But I often argue critically concerning racism, transphobia and homophobia. Should I not because of my colour, sexual identity or orientation? Should I just let people who are unlikely to listen to poc or lgbtq opinions remain ignorant or should I try to do something about it regardless. Laci may have voiced often biased opinion and used an unpleasant term for transgender (may I add in one of her earliest videos) but she achieved much, much, much more good than bad in my opinion. I’d rather have someone trying to do something than nothing at all. These “social justice sallys” are so out of whack. It’s punishing people for trying to be allies and rewarding people for being vicious vicious assholes.
