Inspired by a gun-toting, drug-snortin’ gonzo

Been watching “Gonzo” a documentary about Hunter S. Thompson-unfortunately I didn’t get to watch it all-but needless to say, I am inspired.

I can’t even get what I am thinking out into words but it’s like-he lived his life so truthfully; he hated his enemies honestly, he loved drugs openly and he didn’t care what people thought-that’s how it felt anyway-He cared about the truth. It extended into politics, he felt that the constitution was the truth and that the politicians who were masquerading as guardians of it were liars and cheats. He hoped for a better future, he hoped that he could change things, even in the face of almost certain failure.

I really aspire to be like, to not fear failure-but to laugh in the face of it-to be myself even when what I think or do isn’t appropriate or wanted because wouldn’t it be such a relief to know that at the end of the day-you were the best you you could be-not in a stupid education, career, money, religion and family way but in a way which in spite of everything you never portrayed anyone except your true self.

Now what’s your true self?

As of now, my life is split into two distinct categories.
The moment I saw this photograph.
…and the time before.
